How to set up Formation
In KingShot, changing your formation is key to winning different types of battles (PvP, Bear Hunt, or Garrisoning). Depending on your Town Center level and the platform you are on, the interface can look slightly different
- Open the March/Deployment Screen: Tap on a target (like a rebel or a gathering point) and select Attack or Rally.
- Locate the Sliders: You will see three troop types: Infantry, Cavalry, and Archers
- Adjust the Ratio:
- Manual: Use the sliders next to each troop type to set the percentage or raw number of troops you want to send.
- Numerical Entry: On Android, you can often tap the number to the right of the slider to type in a specific percentage.
- The "Balance" Button: If you have unlocked this feature (typically around TC 21), a Balance button will appear. Clicking this allows you to quickly choose between presets or set a specific percentage-based ratio.
How to change heroes in a march
In KingShot Mobile, changing your heroes depends on whether you are preparing for a world-map march (PvP/Gathering) or setting up your team for turn-based modes like Suppress (Conquest) or Arena.
- Changing Heroes for Marches (Attacks & Rallies)
- Tap the Hero Icon: On the deployment screen (where you see troop sliders), tap the large portrait of the current hero at the top.
- Select New Hero: A list of your available heroes will appear. Tap the hero you want to use and hit Confirm.
- Hero Slots: As you upgrade your Town Center, you will unlock a second and eventually a third hero slot for each march.
- The "Leader" Rule: In a rally, only the first hero's top-right skill (the Expedition skill) typically benefits the entire alliance. Choose your primary hero carefully based on their buffs (e.g., Amadeus for attack or Chenko for lethality).
- Changing Heroes in "conquest" Mode
- Edit Formation: Before starting a stage, tap the Formation button (usually bottom right).
- Swap Heroes: You can drag and drop heroes from your roster into the 6 available slots.
- Positioning Matters:
- Front Row: Place "Tank" heroes (Infantry) like Howard or Amadeus here to soak up hits.
- Back Row: Place "DPS" or "Support" heroes (Archers/Cavalry) like Diana or Jabel here to stay protected while dealing damage.
- Changing Heroes in the Arena
- Go to the Arena building.
- Tap Defense (or "Set Formation").
- Choose your strongest 5-hero lineup.
- Tip: Check the Arena leaderboard to see what hero combinations the top players are using; a common high-tier meta includes Amadeus, Hilda, and Marlin.
Nomadic Merchant
In KingShot, the Nomadic Merchant is one of the best ways to get Advanced Teleports, especially if you want to avoid spending the flat 4,000 Gems fee for a direct move
- Free refreshes: Everyday you get three refreshes. Use them to only resources trading.
- Resources trading:Experienced players recommend buying out all the resource slots (e.g., swapping wood for food) to "clear" the shop. This often triggers better item spawns like Advanced Teleports or Gems in the remaining slots.
- Set a gem cap:If you are unlucky, three refreshes per day might not be enough. I personally set up 200 gem maximum to spend for further refreshes.
